Sorry For The Negative Vibes.

The (social) media is an outrage slot machine, and the house always wins. Sometimes it gets too much and I go a bit manic. Can't stop my thinking. Start yelling on the internet. Hate breeds hate. I must try to respond with love, but it's not easy. I think I deleted most of it. I want to know how to stay informed without the hate. It doesn't seem to be possible. I deleted just about every media app and am constanly blocking influencers who tell me to hate. Is this who we are? ffs sorry ๐๐๐ Happy New Year ! ! !

Don't 'Negotiate' With Your Monkey Mind.

When you are trying to resist your impulses: 'Your Monkey Mind', it will start negotiating with you to convince you to do it anyway. The Monkey Mind will say things like: I have to have 'something'. Just this one time. One last time. We'll quit tomorrow. The world is ending anyways. I was behaving good for a long time, that compensates. It's different now. I can stop any time these days. I need this right now for my mental health. One final blowout. Het is feest. (It's party time.) It all quatsch (BS). When The Monkey Mind is telling you arguments to do the wrong thing, tell it: "I love you, but not today little friend." peace! ✌️ ๐งก๐๐ฑ๐ง

Embrace having a routine. Routine is what makes you move forward. Embrace living by rules. Such as: no caffeine, no alcohol, no junkfood, no slop (cheap entertainment), no doomscrolling,... Plan Your Perfect Day and Your Perfect Week around eating times that respect your circadian rhythm, around work and exercise, around time for friends&family, around quality sleep. Look into "CBT-i" for advice on sleep. Keep tinkering with your routine to make it fit your unique life. Push your boundries every day. Learn a new skill. Go the extra mile. Don't be too rigid. Allow for exceptions to your routine. For family gatherings or dinner with friends for instance. Forgive yourself. You might never achieve a perfect day. But you should do your best to do your best. peace!✌️ ๐งก๐๐ฑ๐ง

Coffee is also bad for your teeth. They keep saying coffee is healthy, but that is probably because the coffee is the only somewhat healthy thing the average person consumes. Coffee also messes with your sleep and mental health. Coffee is also addictive. It took some effort, but I think I'm over coffee. peace! ๐งก๐๐ฑ๐ง

"My 600lbs Life" is a reality show in which people get FREE weightloss surgery if they manage to lose some weight independently first. Which is required for surgery. There are two clear types of people on the show and based on those two types you can tell from the beginning of the show which people are going to succeed and which people are going to fail. The two types are: the ones who take personal responsibility for their choices, and the ones who play the victim, who lie, complain, make stupid excuses, manipulate, blame others... Can you guess the type that doesn't succeed? peace! ✌️ ๐งก๐๐ฑ๐ง

Shock Humor Is Not Worth The Laughs.

I thought I was a comedian, but I was actually a clown. My mind is always looking for the joke. In the winter of 2023, at the age of 41, I struck up a conversation with an 18 year old girl in a tattoo parlor in Ghent. I was waiting for my ink session. She had had hers and was waiting for a friend to get a tribute tattoo to her late mother. The girl said she had gotten a little heart on her thigh. I made a terrible joke: "Now they will be able to identify you when they find your body". She was shocked. I made a half apology saying: "Sinister joke...". My reactions always come delayed but I cringed at myself and still do to this day, 2 years later. I traumatized myself, again. Shock humor might get a reaction which might sound like laughter. You might also make people uncomfortable and damage your reputation. It's not that funny. Not everything that pops up in your mind is brilliant. Even if someone tells you that you are hilarious, an edgelord is not something to...
When You Take A New Drug, The Chance Is Not Zero That It Will Completely Derail Your Life.

People will often tell a story about their drug use that isn't true. And they probably don't even realize they are fibbing. They will tell you they don't use a lot. They are not addicted. And you might believe that untill you go on a weekend trip with them. They say it is kind of a medicine, that it relaxes them, that it makes them creative or helps them work. Which may have been true in the honeymoon phase. But those days are long gone. It's like an addiction wants to protect itself and spread itself. Often without much self awareness of the addict. It's like a brainworm controls you. Don't believe the junkies. Just Say No. The chance is not zero that you will wreck your life. peace! ✌️ ๐งก๐๐ฑ๐ง
My Impression Of The South American Jungle From Reading Werner Herzog.

Some time ago I wanted to see The Werner Herzog Jungle Speech again. I was having an anti-tech moment and decided to order a Herzog book, about his time filming a movie called "Fitzcarraldo" in The Jungle, from a local bookshop instead. The book is called: Conquest Of The Useless. I just finished it. Took me some 3 months. I have to read every passage at least 5 times because my mind is always going in all directions. The Jungle is brutal. It's non-stop misery, murder and decay. The people drink, lie and steal. Already in the early 80ties, The Jungle is full of animals that I think don't belong: rats, pigs, sheep, ducks, chickens, cats, dogs,... Now The Jungle is dying. When everything is dead, there will be no more suffering. And no more beauty. peace! ✌️ ๐งก๐๐ฑ๐ง

Drugs Maken Veel Kapot (Drugs Ruin Lives)

I know a lot of people who made a mess of their lives because of drugs. I include nicotine, weed, junkfood and alcohol in drugs. Really, you can get addicted to anything. Yesterday something happened, which isn't my bussiness to tell, that made me swear off all drugs for good. I'm not going to support my loved ones doing drugs in any way anymore. Without trying to control their behavior. I unpublished my Trip Guide and Trip Reports. A lot of people have the tendency to want to spread their own beliefs and behavior. Religion, politics, diets, hobbies,... drugs. It's what we do as social animals. Often without thinking. Often your brain tells you you are doing something wrong, but you ignore it. You argue it away. But sometimes a catastrophy happens, and your nose is pressed against the facts, and you have to learn a lesson. Adopt new rules, based on reality, and stick to them even if the emotion fades. The best thing is to learn from other people's mistakes. And listen t...

My mind is constantly trying to get me to half-ass things. Half-assery is perhaps an evolutionary strategy to save energy. But there is plenty of food in the supermarket, for the time being. Be mindful of your emotions. Your mind will signal you to quit, to do a poor job, to ignore that work you saw, to go do that easy quick fix pleasurable thing instead... Do not push down your emotions. Do not fight them. Let it happen. But don't listen to these unproductive emotions either. Do not engage. Do the right thing anyway. And when you do the hard thing, you will feel accomplishment. Take a moment to enjoy your achievement. Your spic and span kitchen. Your delicious meal. The mental growth from reading that book with great attention, instead of watching that mindless video. Discomfort is an opportunity to grow as a person. Do the hard thing. Do the right thing. Don't let your Monkey Mind be in control of your actions. Always Be Moving Forward. peace! ✌️ ๐งก๐๐ฑ๐ง
Eat Breakfast. Or Don't.

In my childhood, we didn't eat Breakfast or Lunch. We were sent to school without food or drinks and then had a meal in the evening and snacks. People say Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. They say: Breakfast like a King, Lunch like a Prince and Dinner like a Pauper. Lord knows I've tried. When I first tried to eat Breakfast I would gag. That's not the case anymore, but even when I eat Breakfast and Lunch, I have a massive overwhelming hunger attack in the evening. While hunger is easy to resist during the day. I tried for years. But have decided not to fight my nature anymore. I eat two meals: Lunch and Dinner. At work for Lunch I eat Bananas and Nuts. I don't Snack or drink Liquid Calories. I manage to very slowly lose weight that way. 100 grams per week. Common advice is though, not to eat or drink 3 hours before bedtime. peace ✌️ ๐งก๐๐ฑ๐ง
You Need To Be In Shape For The Great Simplification.

Bad news about The Living Planet tends to make me go: Stuff It and I drop my discipline. However, I don't want to turn my back to the catastrophe that is unfolding. I want to grieve. I have hope in the form of Peak Oil. The decline of oil production, which is inevitable however long it takes, will spell The End of physical economic growth. And perhaps financial economic growth. When I read bad news I will try a trick from now on. Instead of living for the moment when faced with poor prospects, I will say to myself: You must prepare for The Great Simplification. Don't smoke em while you can buy em. peace! ๐งก๐๐ฑ๐ง
