I Knew We Weren't Going To Make It When We Started Pretending That Electric Cars Save The Planet

The mainstream media and popular influencers have sold people a science fantasy future: electrification. And if you go against the narrative, you are an oil shill and you are making teenagers unhappy with bad news.

We have been talking about renewable energy since at least USA President Carter in the 1970s. Some 50 years later, Wind and Solar represent less than 5% of global energy production. The mainstream has been saying that we are in an energy revolution for at least 15 years. But we are using more fossil fuels every year.

I learned, studying engineering, that renewable energy is a fantasy. I learned, being a car fanatic at the time, that electric cars don't make sense. Non of that has changed. But the mainstream acts as if all we have to do to save the planet is buy solar panels and drive an electric car. It's hard to believe that people really believe that a car with a 500kg battery somehow saves Life On Earth. But I think they could actually believe it. The way some people believe in God.

Wind, Solar, and Nuclear together represent about 9% of total energy production.

Nuclear fuel is finite. At current consumption, about 4% of energy production, we will run out in about 90 years.

There is nothing Green about windmills, solar panels or nuclear power plants. Wind and Solar represent a massive ramping up of Mining and Industry. In fact, mining expert Professor Simon Michaux has calculated that we don't have enough materials on the planet for one 25 year generation of a renewable infractructure. Nuclear energy is also a dirty business.

Even if we build a renewable infrastructure, windmills and solar panels only last about 25 years. We have to do it all over again every 25 years.

Recycling solar panels or batteries has been described as "Unscrambling An Egg". The mainstream makes it seem as this is already happening. If we do it, it will probably involve dumping more toxic chemicals into the environment.

The talking point that renewables are cheaper than fossil fuels, is "An Untruth". According to energy expert Art Berman.

The mainstream plays around with words and numbers to pretend that an energy revolution is happening. They interchange the words electricity and energy, while electricity is only 20% of energy. Steel (for electric cars) is made with coal, for instance. Our food is transported with Diesel and Kerosine. Cement and Ammonia Fertilizer is made with fossil fuel.

Cutting down trees in the Amazon rainforest (and growing food for cows on the land), taking those trees to Europe in Diesel ships to be burned for electricity, is counted as "Renewable Energy" in mainstream reporting.

And even if renewables made sense, we are destroying our habitat in 1001 ways. This singlar focus on clean energy is reductionist. For one thing, because we are destroying nature, the Oxygen level in the atmosphere is rapidly declining. That's one thing. Another thing is pollution is making us infertile. And causing cancer.

Astrophysicist Tom Murphy has calculated that if we were to grow the economy at 2% per year, The Powers That Be demand 3%, we will need as much energy as the entire Sun in a short 1400 years. The mainstream pretends we will grow the economy forever.
