According To The Theory Of Evolution, I Shouldn't Exist.

Before you react!: I have faith in The Theory Of Evolution. I would bet on it.

For a while there, the media seemed compelled to explain every human behavior with a story of how it led people to make more children. Some still do it.

As a teenager I wanted to raise 4 girls in the forest of Canada, off grid. But then I read that children of Schizophrenics have a 10% chance of getting it as well. I didn't want a repeat of my terrible childhood, so I made the choice not to have children. I always played open cards with women, and told them up front of my choice.

So according to The Theory Of Evolution, I shouldn't exist. Because all we should care about is making as many children as possible.

We are apes, I'm fairly certain. Nature is certainly obsessed with procreation. But we have been evolving outside of the wild since we started agriculture 10k years ago. Sometimes a behavior, like addiction, is a side effect of the mechanism. Symbiosis suggests that it's egotistical to be altruistic. Perhaps the mind, not just the human mind, can be domesticated to behave in unnatural ways. We can reason our way into overcoming our instincts.

But The Human Superorganism should always tend towards growth, as the non-breeders go extinct. That's certainly what happened. Zooming out on a planetary scale, we behaved like a bacteria in a petri dish. We will keep growing untill we have eaten all the food, or till we choke on our waste.

We are biological creatures. We are not omnipotent. We are not in control. We need habitat to survive: A Living Planet. We are killing our host as nothing is immune to our cleverness. Not even ourselves. We are a species in OVERSHOOT: we have exceeded The Living Planet its capacity to support our NEEDS AND WANTS in the long term. We are living on a planetary credit card, drawing resources that are not replenished. Dumping waste that doesn't go away.

Because of pollution, SPERMcount across all species, including Humans, is dropping fast. Because of pollution and the destruction of the biosphere, the climate will become Hostile To Complex Life. We rely for food on finite synthetic fertilizer.

We are nature. We are biological. We behave like a Bacteria.

This Is The Age Of Consequences. And driving a 2 ton car with a 500kg battery only causes further harm.
