I Choose Not To Hate Billionaires

In Dutch, there is the verb "gedogen". It means that you allow something to happen, that is actually not allowed. For instance, prostitution was illegal, but they allowed it to happen.

Discrimination is illegal, but seems to be allowed against certain groups. Especially groups that people think are powerful. Like men, or billionaires.

In the space of I think two years, two billionaires died in accidents, together with their teenage child. One in a submarine accident, one on a yacht. This was celebrated online. As if rich people are not fellow living creatures.

Meanwhile, people in Belgium get prison sentences for making jokes about women or non-white people. Even in private chats.

You probably have to make hard decisions to become a billionaire. Sociopaths might have an edge. I also think Bill Gates saved more lives of poor children around the world than any social justice warrior.

And these social justice warriors consume the products that rich people willed into existence. Most of the keyboard warriors making fun of families dying, probably couldn't create a successful business if they tried.

Some are good, some are bad. You have to judge people as individuals for their choices. Not as immigrants, Russians, Billionaires, Queers, whites,...

There is a proverb in Dutch "Tall trees catch a lot of wind". What great injustice that I'm not rich. I should be king.

If you zoom out, people are apes. We love to hate. Hate is not anger. Hate feels good. People love to gang up on someone. Playground tactics continue into adulthood.

If you celebrate a person dying because they are successful, you are a quite cynical and sad individual.

peace ✌️ 💜
