A Few Reasons Why I Am Optimistic About The Collapse Of Industrial Civilisation.

I won't miss the roar of motorways that drift in the wind even in secluded areas.

I was once in a nature reserve in The Netherlands, called De Hoge Veluwe. We cycled for 2 hours without a sign of human activity, except for the tarmac path, but the sound of aircraft overhead was overwhelming the whisper of nature. I won't miss that.

I tried to keep my cat indoors but he pressured me into letting him out. Now I can't wait for The Energy Bust so that my sweet little furry buddy doesn't get squished under a tyre. Same goes for children on the way to school.

We will slow down to a more natural pace of life. We will have time to live in reality.

We will have to work with our bodies which is good for us and feels good. Jobs! Purpose!

The elite that turn us into machine cogs will have a much smaller surplus and thus less power over The Little People.

Nature will get a break. We will no longer leverage fossil fuel power against the living world. I hope nature will dominate us again.

We won't have the resources for an animal heavy diet.

We won't have power for an internet that spreads hatred across the planet in milliseconds.

We might get to raise our own children. Instead of having the state turn them into interchangeable economic units for the elite.

We will localize and perhaps find community, with good and bad people, but real relationships.

...

peace!
